Man body recovered, boy drowns

Srinagar: The body of a man, who jumped into the river Jhelum from Zaina Kadal, Srinagar, has been retrieved after three days, officials said on Tuesday.
An official said that the body of Showkat Ali Bhat, son of Ghulam Hussain Bhat, a resident of Shallabagh Zadibal, who jumped into the river Jhelum on July 13, has been retrieved.
He added that the body was spotted by the SDRF, who had been searching for it for the last three days. Meanwhile, police have taken up the investigation.
Meanwhile, minor boy drowned to death while taking a bath in Hassanpora area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.
They said the boy Mohammad Salim (9) son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganaeof Hasanpora drowned in river Vishow while taking a bath. He said that soon after the incident rescue operation was launched and later his body was retrieved from the river. Police have taken cognisance of the incident (KNO)
