BARAMULLA: Cracking a whip on illegal mining and transportation of minerals, police have seized four vehicles and arrested three drivers in Baramulla.
“Police parties under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg/ Kreeri assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg, Kreeri & Kunzer seized 4 vehicles (2 Tippers, 2 Tractors) & arrested 3 drivers involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals at Shrai, Shrakwara & Utikoo areas of Baramulla. They have been identified as Gh Rasool Malik son of Gh Mohd, Ab Rashid Malik son of Gh Mohd both residents of Pariswani Kunzer & Noor Mohd Chopan son of Mohd Akbar resident of Saloosa Kreeri,” police said in a statement.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of the law were registered in Police Station Tangmarg, Kunzer & Kreeri and investigations were taken up.
“People are requested not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah/River, as it is a violation of government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law,” police said.
