CUK alumnus selected as Ph.D candidate at Iowa State University

GANDERBAL: Mr. Sajad Hussain Mallah, former M. Sc Chemistry student (Batch:2020-2022) of the Department of Chemistry, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), has bagged Ph. D admission with scholarship at Iowa State University of Science and Technology, Ames, Iowa, USA.
At CUKashmir, Mr Sajad demonstrated exceptional academic prowess and deep passion for chemistry.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath hailed Mr. Sajad and the Department for the achievement, urging students to emulate him. He acknowledged the support provided by all the faculty members including the Head of the Department to Mr. Sajjad. Prof. A Ravinder Nath motivated Mr. Sajad to learn research thoroughly, laboratory safety regulations, and utilize all opportunities and resources available in the Iowa University. He recommended Mr. Sajad to become a member of American Chemical Society (ACS), and other related societies.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, also congratulated Mr. Sajjad for achieving the feat and bringing laurels to the CUKashmir, as an alumnus.
Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, commended Mr. Sajad’s accomplishment, and emphasized his impact on students serving as motivation and inspiration for future generations.
In his message, Head, Deptt of Chemistry, Dr. Chinnappan Baskar, said, “We are proud of Sajad’s accomplishment. His success is a testament to his hard work, academic excellence, and the quality of education provided at our institution.”
STUDENTS RECEIVE RISE FELLOWSHIP
Four students from the Department of IT, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) who were awarded Research Internship for Students of Engineering (RISE) fellowship, have successfully concluded their Internship at IIT Jammu.
The students of B.Tech CSE 8th Semester were Sayed Saood, Saliq Neyaz, Kaisar Hameed, and Sadaf Zahoor. RISE is a competitive programme designed to provide undergraduate students with an opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research projects at premier institutions. The fellowship aims to foster a strong foundation in research methodologies and innovative thinking.
Er. Afaq Alam Khan, Deptt Coordinator IT congratulated the students on the completion of the programme. Dr. Yash Paul, Asst Prof and Training Coordinator said the Department will explore the possibility of arranging similar opportunities for final year students at institutions across the country.
