Police solve burglary case in Kulgam

Stolen property worth lakhs recovered

KULGAM: Police in Kulgam have solved a burglary case by arresting three accused persons involved in the commission of the crime and recovered stolen property from their possession.
Police Station DH Pora received a written complaint from one person namely Mohd Shabaan Naik son of Ghulam Qadir Naik resident of Badijahlan, DH Pora stating therein that his livestock (five in number) has been stolen by unknown thieves during the intervening night of 30th June/ Ist July.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 83/2024 under section 303 sub-clause (2) BNS was registered at Police Station DH Pora and an investigation was initiated, police said in a statement.
The statement added, “An investigation team headed by SHO Police Station DH Pora under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora was constituted. Acting swiftly, the investigating team with strenuous efforts and by using all available means zeroed in on 03 suspected persons. They have been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Malik son of Gull Mohd Malik resident of Sarmarag, DH Pora, Zahoor Ahmad Ganie son of Mohd Ramzan Ganie resident of Main Bazar Pattan, Baramulla and Mohd Ashraf Mir son of Ghulam Hassan Mir resident of Wein Imamsahib, Shopian. During questioning, they confessed their involvement in the commission of crime. They were arrested and vehicle bearing registration no JK22-0598 used in the commission of crime has been seized.”
On their disclosure, stolen property was recovered. Further investigation is going on and more recoveries are expected, police said.
