Over 200 saplings planted during drive

CHADOORA: The Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Chadoora successfully organized a large-scale Plantation drive at the Court Complex, Chadoora on Thursday. This initiative aimed to enhance the area’s green cover and raise environmental awareness among the local community.
The event commenced at 11:00 AM with an opening ceremony attended by Mir Wajahat Sub-Judge Chadoora/Chairman TLSC Chadoora.
Mir Wajahat actively participated in the Plantation Drive by planting several trees himself. In his brief yet impactful speech, he emphasized the critical importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, combating climate change, and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Ms. Uzma Amin Munsiff/JMIC Chadoora, also graced the event and participated by planting trees. Her involvement underscored the importance of judicial leadership in promoting environmental initiatives.
Following the speeches, participants, including Bashir Ahmad From Forest Range Office Chadoora, Bar Members, local residents and office staff, were divided into groups and assigned specific planting areas within the Court Complex. The enthusiastic participation of the community highlighted the collective commitment to environmental conservation.
During the drive, over 200 saplings of native species were planted. Additionally, a concurrent cleanup drive was organized to ensure the area was free of litter, providing a clean and healthy environment for the new saplings to thrive.
This Plantation Drive signifies a significant stride towards a greener and healthier Chadoora, setting a precedent for future environmental initiatives.
