One dead, two injured after bike plunges into irrigation canal in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: A tragic accident occurred on Thursday evening in the Watlar area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, resulting in the death of a 25-year-old and injuries to two others. The incident happened when the motorbike they were riding skidded off the road and fell into an irrigation canal.
Officials reported that the accident took place near the maternity hospital in Watlar Ganderbal. The Pulsar bike, bearing registration number JK05M-4769, lost control and plunged into the canal, causing injuries to two passengers and leading to the disappearance of another.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a rescue operation was swiftly launched by local police, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the army, and local residents. The operation resulted in the retrieval of the missing youth’s body on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Aadil Manzoor Shah, 25, son of Manzoor Shah, a resident of Nilla Palpora, Patten Baramulla. The injured individuals, 20-year-old Mufasil Reshi, son of Mohd Asadullah Reshi, and 22-year-old Nasir Nabi Bhat, son of Gh Nabi Bhat, both residents of Nilla Palpora, Patten, were initially taken to PHC Lar. They were later referred to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment.
The Lar Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the law, and further investigation is underway.
