IUST hosts annual alumni meet under Alumni Connect initiative

AWANTIPORA: Drawing former students to reconnect, network, and celebrate their alma mater, the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) held its Annual Alumni Meet under the Alumni Connect initiative on Friday. The event featured speeches, nostalgic reflections, and discussions on the university’s future initiatives.
The event began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Wasim Bari, I/C Dean Outreach, IUST, who expressed gratitude to the alumni for their continued support and contributions to the university’s growth and success. Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice-Chancellor of IUST and President of the Alumni Association of IUST (AAIUST), was the Chief Guest of the event. The President of AAIUST presented a keynote speech highlighting the importance of the alumni community to the institution. Many notable alumni working nationally and internationally participated in the meeting.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude towards the alumni and congratulated them on their continued success in all their endeavors. He said, “Our alumni are a testament to the values and education we provide, and it is heartening to see their achievements and dedication to their communities and professions.”
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Asifa M. Baba, after which the alumni were served lunch.
To honor the distinguished alumni, each department held special ceremonies recognizing the achievements of notable alumni who have made significant contributions in their respective fields. All the alumni were felicitated by their respective departments during the department-alumni interaction session.
