SRINAGAR: District Electoral Officer Srinagar, in collaboration with the District Youth Services and Sports Office Srinagar and the School Education Department Kashmir, organized a special voter awareness campaign in Srinagar on Thursday. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the ongoing electoral process across the country and encourage active participation in the democratic process.

The vibrant awareness program took place near the Historical Clock Tower, Ghanta Ghar Lalchowk, attracting a diverse audience. As part of the campaign, the Department of Youth Services and Sports presented a spectacular sports display featuring various disciplines such as Martial Arts, Table Tennis, Chess, and Carrom. The enthusiastic participation of student athletes showcased their talents and garnered significant attention from onlookers.

District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Bilal Mohi ud Din, who also serves as the District Election Officer, along with Deputy Director Tourism Mantasha Bint Rashid and other dignitaries, graced the event. They engaged with participants to encourage and uplift their spirits.

In addition to the sports display, a group of artists showcased captivating paintings on canvas highlighting the importance of voter awareness among the masses. The program concluded with a Nukad Natak (street play) portraying the pivotal role of women voters and first-time young voters in shaping the democratic process.

The District Election Officer Srinagar commended the efforts of the District Youth Services and Sports Office Srinagar for organizing the sports demonstrations and expressed appreciation for their contribution to the awareness campaign. Ghulam Hassan Lone, DYSSO Srinagar, along with officials from the School Education Department, ensured meticulous arrangements for the successful execution of the program. The collaborative efforts of all involved underscored the commitment to promoting voter awareness and civic engagement among the community.
