Avalanche Warning Issued For 3 Districts

Srinagar, April 30: Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority on Tuesday issued a medium- danger level avalanche warning for three districts in Kashmir division.
Avalanche with medium danger level is likely to occur above 2500 metres over Bandipora, Kupwara and Ganderbal districts in next 24 hours, reads an advisory as per GNS.
People living in the specified areas are advised to take precautions and avoid venturing in the avalanche prone areas till further orders.
“In case of any help, the authority can be reached at 112”, the JKDMA said. (GNS)
As per MeT in last 24 hours till 0830 a.m. today, Srinagar received 23.6mm, Qazigund 40.2mm, Pahalgam 41.6mm, Kupwara 19.8mm, Kokernag 35.8mm, Gulmarg 21.0mm, Jammu 20.6mm, Banihal 60.6mm, Batote 40.2mm, Katra 30.6mm and Bhadarwah 21.8mm.
The incessant rains led to waterlogging on several roads, disrupting normal life. It also inundated many low-lying areas, reports said.
