Dir Agri conducts comprehensive visit to assess agricultural progress in Bla

SRINAGAR: Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, the Director of Agriculture in Kashmir, conducted a comprehensive visit to various agricultural sites in Baramulla district on Tuesday, including the Seed Multiplication Farm Tapper, Zonal Office Wagoora, and Daarwa Wagoora, to assess the agricultural scenario in the region. During his visit, he personally inspected farmers’ fields at multiple locations and assessed the status of various agricultural crops.
Engaging with local farmers, Director Agriculture Iqbal expressed satisfaction with the progress of different crops, notably Mustard and vegetables. He attributed this positive outcome to the innovative interventions introduced by the department and embraced by the farming community, which are now yielding tangible results.
Emphasizing the importance of collaboration between agricultural officers and farmers, Director Iqbal directed the concerned officials to provide comprehensive guidance and support throughout the pre and post-harvest operations. He stressed the need for continuous assistance to farmers at every stage of crop cultivation.
Furthermore, Director Agriculture highlighted ongoing projects under the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) and encouraged farmers to actively participate and benefit from these initiatives. He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to facilitating the socio-economic upliftment of the farming community in the region.
In addition to his field visit, Director Agriculture participated in an awareness program organized by IIFCO in collaboration with a Farmer Producer Company (FPC) in Wagoora, Baramulla. During the event, he underscored the significance of innovative nano-fertilizers in enhancing agricultural crop yields.
Director Agriculture Kashmir was accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla, Yadvinder Singh, and several other officers from the department during his visit and engagement with local farmers and stakeholders.
