Dir Agri inspects dev works under HADP

SRINAGAR: Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal on Sunday visited Hafrada and some other areas of Kupwara district. He visited hi-tech polygreen houses, bore wells, and other components established under HADP in different areas of the district.
The Director took stock of the agriculture scenario in these areas. He held interaction with the beneficiary farmers and agri-preneurs of different areas of the district and kick-started the distribution of potato seeds in the area.
Speaking to the farmers, the Director Agriculture said that the hi-tech, low cost poly green houses established under HADP are transforming the lives of vegetable farmers across the Kashmir division. He reiterated the department’s commitment to the socio-economic development of the farming community.
Iqbal underscored the importance of projects under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and asked the farmers to come forward and avail the benefits from these projects. He directed the concerned officers to ensure maximum awareness among the farming community of Kashmir division regarding the projects under HADP.
Earlier, the Director Agriculture visited many departmental seed outlets in Baramulla and Kupwara districts and took stock of the supply and distribution of Seed to the farmers. Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla Yadvinder Singh and some other senior officers of North Kashmir were present on the occasion.
