IUST faculty bags project sponsored by Indian council of Medical Research

AWANTIPORA: Miss Asmat Parveen, Principal SMMCN&MT, has been awarded project on “Comparison of respiratory health of brick kiln worker and local inhabitants with general population of Kashmir Valley” by Indian Council of Medical Research.
Congratulating the faculty, Vice Chancellor Prof Shakil Ahmed Ramshoo said, “As IUST is emerging as a research intensive university, faculty should increasingly focus on the areas of societal relevance and contribute towards policy advocacy and bridge the distance between lab and land.”
He said that the research output of university has seen a significant increase and IUST is exploring collaboration with different national organizations in areas of significant importance. The VC urged the faculty to respond to the calls for proposals from different funding agencies to further upgrade the research infrastructure.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof A H Moon complimented Ms Asmat and said that IUST under the guidance of Vice Chancellor has devised a policy to reward faculty and researchers for promising research initiative. Dean Research, Prof Shiekh Javid Ahmadd also congratulated the faculty for the project.
