PULWAMA: Former members of the National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) made a significant shift to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a party workers’ meeting held in Saffron Town, Pampore. The event, attended by BJP Vice President Pulwama Mohammad Asif Ganaie, saw the joining of several prominent figures from the local political landscape.
Among those who joined the BJP were former Sarpanch Ghulam Nabi Dar from Andoosa and Panch Ghulam Mohammad Lone from Sharma Shar Shali, along with dozens of other workers who had previously been affiliated with the NC and PDP. Their decision to join the BJP was welcomed by BJP Vice President Pulwama Mohammad Asif Ganaie, who emphasized that their inclusion would further strengthen the party’s presence in the Pampore Constituency.
Speaking to Kashmir Reader, BJP Vice President for Pulwama, Mohammad Asif Ganaie, highlighted the purpose of the meeting, which was to encourage party workers to bring more people into the BJP fold, especially in anticipation of the upcoming parliamentary elections. He noted that there had been a significant increase in BJP membership in the Pampore Constituency over the past few months, with diverse individuals, including women, joining the party.
Ganaie mentioned the notable presence of former Sarpanch and Panch members who had previously been associated with the NC and PDP but chose to join the BJP after observing the party’s work. He expressed gratitude for their decision to align with the BJP and emphasized the party’s commitment to serving the people and addressing their genuine concerns.
The joining of these former NC and PDP members signifies a growing momentum for the BJP in the region and reflects the party’s appeal to individuals disillusioned with the previous political establishments.
