Teachers Forum hosts conference on role of NEP 2020, advocates education reform

Event at Awantipora addresses teacher engagement in NEP implementation

AWANTIPORA: The Teachers Forum organized a one-day Teachers Conference focusing on the Role of Teachers in NEP 2020 alongside an oath ceremony for the newly elected district president, Irfan Nazir, at the Townhall Awantipora.
The event witnessed the presence of prominent figures including Chairman JKTF, Mohammad Amin Khan, Vice Chairman Showkat Ali Beigh, Principal President Hamidullah Tramboo, CEO Pulwama Abdul Qayoom Nadvi, District President Irfan Nazir, and other key officials such as ZEO Awantipora Mohammad Azad Lone and Women’s Wing representative Mymoona.
Mohammad Amin Khan, Chairman of the Teachers Forum J&K, highlighted the significance of the conference, emphasizing its dual purpose. He stated, “Today’s education conference, organized by the Teachers Forum Pulwama district, marks an essential milestone for our education system. Firstly, it acknowledges the induction of young teachers selected according to the regulations of the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum. Secondly, it serves as a platform to address crucial aspects of the National Education Policy 2020.”
Addressing the gathering, Khan elaborated on the pivotal role of teachers in implementing the NEP 2020 and preparing students for the competitive challenges at the national level. He stressed the importance of aligning educational practices with the policy directives, including flagship schemes like “One Nation, One Exam.”
Moreover, the conference delved into internal affairs concerning the promotions and transfers of teachers, particularly focusing on guidance and counseling roles. Khan emphasized the need for efficient resource distribution and infrastructure development in schools to ensure quality education delivery.
“We advocate for equitable distribution of human resources and adequate infrastructure in schools, with the aim of enhancing the learning environment for our students,” Khan added. He also highlighted the Teachers Forum’s national recognition and affiliation with the All India Teachers Federation, reflecting its commitment to advocating for educational reforms on a broader scale.
The conference concluded with a call for prompt action from the administration to address the identified challenges and streamline educational processes for the benefit of both teachers and students.
