Tanmay creates record by smashing fastest triple tonne in first-class cricket

New Delhi: The Ranji Trophy 2023/24 Plate Group game between Hyderabad and Arunachal Pradesh featured a record-breaking triple-ton innings at the NexGen Cricket Ground in Hyderabad.
Tanmay Agarwal, Hyderabad’s opening batter, hit 366 runs off 181, including 26 sixes and 34 boundaries.
Agarwal also scored the fastest triple-ton in first-class cricket, putting his team in command after the visitors were bowled out for 172 in 39.4 overs on Friday.
On the same day, the 28-year-old eclipsed Colin Munro’s previous first-class cricket record of 281 set in 2014-15.
Sunrisers Hyderabad also signed this triple-ton record holder in the Indian Premier League 2017 for a base fee of Rs 10 lakh.
The southpaw batter also set a first-class inning record for sixes, beating Munro’s 23 from the Plunket Sheild League in 2014-15.
Agarwal has also amassed 3899 runs in 56 first-class matches at an average of 42.38, with 12 hundreds to his name, including a triple century.
