Fire damages residential sheds in Pampore

Tehsildar, BJP leader extend support to affected families

Pampore: In an unfortunate incident early Thursday morning, a massive fire broke out in Galander Pampore, resulting in severe damage to several residential tin sheds in the area.
Upon receiving information about the fire at around 5 am, the Pampore Police and fire tenders from the local fire station swiftly responded to the scene, successfully extinguishing the flames. The timely intervention by the authorities prevented the fire from spreading to other structures.
The affected families, who come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, faced substantial losses. Seeking assistance from the administration, locals urged support to help the victims resume their normal lives.
Tehsildar Pampore, Zuber Ahmad Bhat, visited the site to assess the situation and assured the affected families of full support from the district administration. He stated that efforts would be made to relocate and identify suitable land for the families to facilitate their rehabilitation.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vice President Pulwama, Mohammad Asif Ganaie, also visited the fire-ravaged area and assessed the losses. Ganaie appealed to the district administration to provide prompt assistance to the affected families, enabling them to rebuild their houses.
Family members shared that the fire occurred around 5 am, but the timely arrival of police and emergency services prevented further escalation. Unfortunately, all their belongings were consumed by the fire, leaving them with nothing. They requested assistance from the administration to arrange for temporary housing and facilitate necessary arrangements for their residence.
BJP leader emphasized the urgent need for relocation and rehabilitation for the economically disadvantaged residents who lost their possessions and winter items in the fire. He urged the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to swiftly extend assistance to these families, helping them rebuild their homes and lives.
