SKUAST-K organises two management skill program in KVK Anantnag

Srinagar: To foster entrepreneurial skills among youth, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir conducted an existing management development programs (E-MDPs) on process and value addition of milk and milk production and women empowerment through scientific management of livestock.
The trainings were organised by SKUAST-K’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Anantnag, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India.
Titled ‘Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Training on Processing and Value Addition of Milk and Milk Products’ and ‘Women Empowerment through Scientific Management of Livestock Production Techniques’, aim to empower participants with the knowledge and skills required for successful ventures in these domains.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Mir, the course coordinator, who extended his greetings to the distinguished guest speakers and participants.
Head, KVK Anantnag, Dr Ishtiyaq A Khan, underscored the significance of these training programs in creating employment opportunities. He highlighted the importance of instilling an entrepreneurial spirit among aspiring entrepreneurs, especially focusing on rural youth and unemployed women. The event also saw the participation of officers and officials from the JKRLM-Dooru who provided valuable insights into various schemes aimed at assisting aspiring entrepreneurs in developing their agribusinesses.
Dr Mir provided overview of the training programs, emphasizing their potential impact on skill enhancement and economic development in the region. Dr Rafie, Senior Veterinary Assistant Surgeon representing the Department of Animal Husbandry-Anantnag shared information of welfare schemes designed to support successful entrepreneurship in the livestock sector.
The programs witnessed an enthusiastic response, with over 60 participants in attendance, predominantly comprising Pashu Sakhis of JKRLM from Block Dooru Shahabad. This diverse participation reflects the commitment of the community and the KVK towards exploring entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors.
