Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra commences in Balhama to ‘promote govt schemes’

In a momentous step toward community development and environmental stewardship, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (YBSY) was officially inaugurated in the Balhama area of Srinagar district.
The launch, spearheaded by DDC member Er Aijaz Hussain and Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mukhtar Ahmad, witnessed the active participation of BDO Saima Ahad and other officials, besides all line departments, PRI members, senior citizens and youth also present on the occasion.
A digital van was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mukhtar Ahmad and DDC member Er Ajaz Hussain, introducing a technological dimension to bolster the initiative’s objectives and further enhance its impact.
The event showcased impactful activities, including a vigorous cleanliness drive, a plantation initiative, and a meaningful pledge ceremony.
During the robust cleanliness drive. Er Ajaz Hussain, officials, PRI members and local authorities joined forces to uplift hygiene standards and enhance the aesthetic appeal of Balhama.
Simultaneously, a plantation drive unfolded, drawing the involvement of residents and dignitaries alike. Their collective effort in planting trees symbolized a united commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the area and addressing the challenges of climate change.
The pledge ceremony emerged as the focal point of the event, where individuals from diverse backgrounds converged to express their unwavering dedication to the goals of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp programme. This pledge underscored the core values of community development, environmental responsibility, and the overall well-being of the region’s inhabitants.
Speaking to Kashmir Reader, Er Ajaz Hussain congratulated the Rural Development Department and the rest of the administration for choosing Balhama Khunmoh as the DDC Constituency. “This constituency is part of the ongoing Vijay Sankalp Vikshit Bharat Yatra, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15. The journey spans the entire country, and today it commences from Balhama in the Srinagar district,” he said.
“You will see in the upcoming times that the Yatra vehicle is promoting the 100 percent implementation that we desire from the Rural Development Department. We have pledged to ensure that every village receives the benefits of the central government schemes, reaching every household,” Er Hussain said.
The DDC member thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the administration for “bringing so many schemes for our Balhama village”.
He said the inauguration of the digital vehicle is aimed at spreading awareness about various government schemes by reaching every village. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of these government schemes for the benefit of all,” he said.
