Srinagar: Er. Ehtisham Khan, Senior Vice President of The Purpose (Registered NGO), has expressed serious concern over the increasing power shortages causing significant hardships, especially during the crucial winter season. He has urged authorities to take immediate action to resolve the escalating power shutdowns, which are posing challenges for individuals across all segments of society, particularly impacting local businesses and students.
“The persistent power shortages have created severe challenges for the local business community and students, disrupting daily operations, hindering productivity, and compromising educational pursuits. This situation has become untenable, impeding economic growth and educational advancement in the region,” Khan said in a statement.
Er. Ehtisham added, “Businesses, considered the backbone of the economy, are grappling with maintaining operations amid frequent power disruptions. From small enterprises to larger establishments, the lack of consistent electricity supply has led to financial setbacks and operational constraints, further impacting employment and economic stability. Similarly, students, the future of the nation, are facing significant obstacles in pursuing their education. Power outages deprive students of essential study time and exacerbate existing educational disparities, jeopardizing their academic progress.”
Given the gravity of the situation, Khan emphasized the need for swift and effective government intervention to safeguard the interests of businesses and students. He said timely action is crucial to prevent further economic setbacks and educational disruptions in the region.
Er. Ehtisham stressed the urgency of taking steps promptly to ensure a consistent and reliable power supply, especially during this critical time when the bitter cold intensifies the difficulties faced by the people.
