Speaking to Kashmir Reader, Sunil Kumar Pandita conveyed the importance of the day as they observe the festival of Diwali. He said that both Muslim neighbours and officials from the district administration extended heartfelt greetings, marking a tradition they have been celebrating for a long time.
“Our Muslim neighbours play a pivotal role in this celebration. They come to our homes on this day, extend warm wishes, treat us kindly, and actively participate in cooperative efforts. We, in turn, also celebrate in a very positive and welcoming manner,” he said.
Pandita said that on Diwali, they celebrate by lighting lamps, exchanging sweets, and creating a delightful atmosphere. “The crucial role played by neighbours is evident as officers from the administration visited our home,” he said.
He also prayed for continued peace and prosperity not only in Jammu and Kashmir but throughout the entire country, hoping for joyous celebrations in the days to come.
