Hajin: The dead body of a man, who had been missing for eight days, was recovered from the Nichair Nallah Banyari on Saturday.
An official told Kashmir Reader that a body was found by some fisherman in Nichair Nallah in Wullar Lake, following which a police team under the supervision of SDPO Hajin along with SHO Hajin reached the site and retrieved the body.
The person was identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khan, son of Nazir Ahmad Khan, a resident of Paribal Hajin, the official said, adding that the deceased had gone missing since October 26, 2023.
After completing legal formalities, the body was been handed over to his family for the last rites, he added.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on the entire Paribal Hajin area after the body of Manzoor Ahmad reached home.
Amid emotional scenes, hundreds of grief-stricken people participated in Manzoor’s funeral prayers following which he was laid to rest at their ancestral graveyard.
