200 people attend Shehjar Trust’s free eye health camp at Lethpora

Pampore: A free eye medical check-up camp, was organized on Sunday by Shehjar Trust Lethpora in collaboration with Max Eye Clinic Pampore held at New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) Lethpora village of Pampore Tehsil in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. People from Lethpora and its adjoining areas attended the camp.
More than 200 people, including women, children and the elderly visited the camp for check-ups. Patients suffering from different eye ailments were examined by a team of Ophthalmologist doctors and other medical teams.
About 100 free spectacles and eye medicines were distributed to the patients in the day-long eye medical camp.
Shehjar Trust Lethpora representatives were present during the camp. Locals of these areas hailed the efforts of Shehjar Trust Lethpora for conducting free eye medical camps in the village.
Such camps are proving very beneficial for poor and needy people and hope that more such camps will be organised in the village so that more and more needy people can benefit, locals said.
Speaking to Kashmir Reader, Showkat Ahmad Kuchay, the head of Shehjar Trust said that they organized a free eye medical camp today on behalf of Shehjar Trust. They provided various facilities for the attendees, including a health facility that hosts medical camps annually. The eye medical camp managed in collaboration with Max Eye Clinic Pampore, was held at NTPHC Lethpora.
The patients with eye ailments received free medicines, and advanced tests were conducted using new technologies. Additionally, free spectacles were distributed to those in need. Kuchay emphasized the Trust’s commitment to providing essential facilities for the residents and mentioned that around 200 patients were treated during the free medical camp.
Naseer Ahmad Dar, a patient, expressed gratitude for the free eye camp organized by Shehjar Trust. He said that nearly 200 patients received treatment, advanced tests were conducted using the latest technology, and free medicines and spectacles were provided to the patients.
Dar thanked Shehjar Trust for organizing this camp for the second consecutive year. He highlighted the significant benefit, especially for elderly individuals who couldn’t travel to SDH Pampore, located 7-8 kilometres away. The availability of these facilities at home through Shehjar Trust proved immensely beneficial for them.
Ghulam Nabi Magray, another patient, said that they have greatly benefited from Shehjar Trust in various ways. “Today, a medical team visited them, conducted check-ups, and provided other facilities free of cost,” he said. Magray expressed gratitude for the numerous facilities offered by Shehjar Trust, including oxygen concentrators and other essential services in the area.
