GMC Anantnag conducts CME-cum-workshop on advanced trauma, cardiac arrest management

Anantnag: The Department of Pediatrics, Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, in collaboration with the British Kashmiri Medical Association, on Thursday successfully organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME)-cum-workshop focusing on advanced trauma and cardiac arrest management, as well as raising awareness about emergency medicine. This significant event was held at Anantnag and witnessed participation from medical professionals, educators, and healthcare enthusiasts.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address from Dr. Showkat Hussain Tali, Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at GMC Anantnag. Dr. Tali set the stage for a day of learning and knowledge sharing, emphasizing the importance of staying updated in the ever-evolving field of healthcare.
The inauguration and opening of the CME were graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) Anjum Farhana, the Principal/Dean of GMC Anantnag. Dr. Farhana’s presence marked the official start of the event and highlighted the institution’s commitment to advancing medical education and clinical practices.
The heart of the event featured lectures that covered a broad spectrum of critical topics, delivered by the renowned Dr. Mehdi Hassan Teeli. As a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the University Teaching Hospital of East Lancashire NHS Trust and a Senior Lecturer, Dr. Teeli brought invaluable expertise to the attendees. His lectures encompassed vital aspects such as emergency medicine awareness, advances in training for cardiac arrest management, and trauma management in both adults and children.
Dr. Malik Shakir Hussain, an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event, expressing gratitude to all the participants, speakers, organizers, and sponsors who made this event a resounding success. This event was a testament to the collective commitment to advancing medical knowledge and practices.
Dr. Prof. Skeikh Mushtaq Ahmad, who served as the Organizing Chairman of this event, played an instrumental role in ensuring its seamless execution. Alongside him, special guests including CMO Anantnag Dr M Y Zago, Dr. Mohd Ashraf Bhat, former Associate Professor Pediatrics, Dr GJ Rumshoo Head Internal Medicine and Dr. Wani Shahid Hussain, Deputy MS at MCCH Hospital, Anantnag, added to the event’s significance with their presence.
