Inaugurates renovation forest building, lays foundation stone of BOs hut in Pampore
Pampore: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), and Head of the Forest Force (HoFF) Roshan Jaggi, conducted a surprise visit to the forest model range in the Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Awantipora Forest Division on Sunday. Accompanying him were the Conservator of Forests, South Circle, Irfan Ali Shah, and Divisional Forest Officer, Awantipora, Waseem Farooq.
Ranger of Forest model range Pampore Main Ishfaq Hussain and officers were present on the occasion.
During his visit, PCCF and HoFF Roshan Jaggi inaugurated the renovation of the forest range building in Pampore and laid the foundation stone for the BO’s Hut in the Gusainnard Ladhoo Pampore area of the forest division of Awantipora.
PCCF Roshan Jaggi embarked on a comprehensive day-long tour of the Pampore range, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the preservation and sustainable management of our cherished forests. His tour began with a meticulous inspection of the nursery infrastructure at the Range Pampore premises. He expressed deep satisfaction with the progress made in this vital area of forest conservation, reflecting his enthusiasm for the work carried out in the nursery, forest officials told Kashmir Reader.
Next on his agenda was a critical examination of the fire-fighting equipment at the Joint Control Room in Pampore.
During this inspection, he focused on the activities conducted by the Joint Control Room and underscored the gravity of forest fires. He emphasized the necessity of strict adherence to the law when dealing with those responsible for igniting forest fires, a menace that poses a significant threat to our invaluable natural resources and ecosystems.
The PCCF also inaugurated the ongoing repair and renovation work at the Range Office in Pampore. His presence not only highlighted the significance of this restoration project but also served as a source of motivation for those engaged in this vital endeavour, officials told Kashmir Reader.
In a significant event, PCCF Roshan Jaggi unveiled a comprehensive booklet titled “Forest Fire Management Plan in Range Pampore.” This publication promises to be an invaluable resource in the fight against forest fires, providing a structured framework to effectively mitigate and manage these devastating events.
Later, PCCF Roshan Jaggi visited the Gosainard area of Ladhoo Pampore, where he laid the foundation stone for the BO’s Hut in Gosainard. This symbolic gesture signifies a commitment to expanding infrastructure that supports forest conservation efforts in the region.
Conservator of Forests, South Circle, Irfan Ali Shah, Divisional Forest Officer Awantipora Waseem Farooq Mir, and Deputy Conservator of Forests accompanied by PCCF duty the visit.
