BMO Pulwama inaugurates blood donation camp under Ayushman Bhav at Ratnipora

First such camp in past 60 years in our village, say residents

Pampore: BMO Pampore Dr Asima Nazir inaugurated a blood donation camp under Ayushman Bhav at the Community Hall in Ratnipora village of Medical Block Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
The camp was organised by Medical Block Pampore in collaboration with Blood Center District Hospital Pulwama, health officials told Kashmir Reader.
During the Ayushman Bhav camp, health employees of medical block Pampore and other Volunteers donated blood.
Doctors, health workers, Asha workers, Auqaf Committee members and senior citizens of the area were present during the blood donation camp. The donors were provided with refreshments and a sense of fulfillment for their invaluable contribution to society.
BMO Dr Asima received sincere appreciation and accolades from members of the senior citizens, society and the local Auqaf Committee for organizing the first-ever blood donation camp in the area.
Senior citizens told Kashmir Reader that the blood donation camp was the first of its kind in the village in the past 60 years.
The event not only served as a platform for voluntary blood donation but also raised awareness about the importance of donating blood to save lives.
An Auqaf Committee member has informed Kashmir Reader that this blood donation camp was organized in their village for the first time, and they are appreciative of the officers involved in its management.
“The camp was organised by the health administration in support of BMO Pampore, Dr Asima Nazir. We are very thankful to them for organising this camp. The blood donated here will be used for patients in hospitals, regardless of their location, which benefits our community,” he said, adding that on behalf of the Auqaf Committee, senior citizens, and the people of Ratnipora he expresses gratitude to BMO Pampore.
“Today, people have become aware of the importance of blood donation through this camp. For the first time in 60 years, I have witnessed such a camp organized by the health department in Ratnipora,” he said, adding that it has been requested to BMO Pampore to organize more medical camps like eye camps or other medical camps for the benefit of the people here.
Talking to Kashmir Reader Dr Asima Nazir said that under the Ayushman Bhav Campaign, it is necessary to organize blood donation camps. “In this context, today we have organised a blood donation camp here in Ratnipora, in collaboration with the district hospital Pulwama,” she said.
The Auqaf Committee and our senior citizens have played a significant role in organizing this camp, and we are very grateful to them, the BMO Pampore said, adding that Ayushman Bhav health camps are being conducted at their health centres, and these camps are benefiting people greatly.
