Pampore: In an inspiring display of determination and advocacy, a young specially-abled girl from the Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama represented her region at a prestigious conference in New Delhi. Her remarkable efforts have garnered praise from local education authorities and have set an example for others to follow.
Tahzeeba Hilal, a visually impaired girl, is leading students from darkness to light. A student of class 12 at Government Higher Secondary School Lethpora Pampore, she is teaching computers to visually impaired local students and those from different parts of the country.
Tahzeeba’s message is simple yet powerful: “If anyone works with determination, nothing is impossible.” At the conference in Delhi, she passionately advocated for the rights of children, particularly focusing on disabled children, but also aiming to benefit all children in the region. Her proposal included a budget recommendation to ensure that the maximum number of children in Jammu and Kashmir could receive essential support.
One of the highlights of Tahzeeba’s advocacy is her plan to establish a Children’s Parliament at the Lethpora Higher Secondary School area of Pampore. This initiative promises to provide a platform for young minds to express their ideas, discuss important issues, and make positive changes that will benefit their peers.
Abdul Qayoom Nadvi, the Chief Education Officer in Pulwama, expressed his admiration for young advocates like Tahzeeba. He stressed the importance of appreciating and recognizing the efforts of such individuals to inspire others to pursue their goals. While acknowledging Tahzeeba as an exceptional case, he commended her for playing an invaluable role in society.
Nadvi further emphasized that Tahzeeba’s representation of Jammu and Kashmir in the Children’s Parliament is a source of pride for the entire region. Her dedication to addressing the issues faced by both disabled and normal children showcases her commitment to inclusivity and social progress.
The Chief Education Officer urged society to provide opportunities to children like Tahzeeba at every level, recognizing that their contributions can drive positive change in the world.
Chief Education Office Pulwama on Tuesday organised a felicitation ceremony at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Pulwama during which specially-abled Tehzeeba Hilal has been honored for her excellent performance with computer.
Tehzeeba is not only providing computer training to hundreds of local and foreign children but she had also represented Jammu and Kashmir in the recently Children’s Parliament.
During the programme Tehzeeba was honoured by the Chief Education Officer, Pulwama Abdul Qayoom Nadvi, for her excellence in information technology as well as in the field of education, Education official Tariq Abdullah told Kashmir Reader.
The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Principal HSS Lethpora, Najma Nighat, Principal HSS Hawal, Nusrat Manzoor, and Principal GHSS Pulwama, who presided as the guest of honor.
