Party to contest on all ULB seats in Kashmir: Ashok Koul

Pampore: J&K Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 105th episode of Mann Ki Baat at Townhall Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.
The event organised by the BJP was presided over by Ashkol Koul and was attended by various party leaders and workers, including District President Pulwama Mohammad Lateef Bhat, a BJP leader told Kashmir Reader. The programme was organised by the party’s vice president, Election Incharge Pulwama Mohammad Asif Ganaie.
During the programme, Ashok Koul discussed a range of topics, including development projects, community welfare, and regional growth. He praised “Mann Ki Baat” as an inspiring platform where the Prime Minister shares innovative ideas and noted its significant impact on the Indian populace over the past nine years.
Koul highlighted that the programme focuses not only on politics but also on the country’s development and the achievements of its people of the country, serving as a source of inspiration for the youth. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his tireless efforts, attributing them to the successful testing of Chandrayaan 3 and India’s participation in major international conferences like the G20.
The BJP leader also acknowledged the Prime Minister’s role in launching the era of digitalization in India, which has now propelled the country to the top rank in digitalization. Additionally, Koul emphasized that the Prime Minister’s initiatives, such as PM Kisan Yojana, free ration distribution, and the Ayushman card scheme, have benefited millions of farmers, he thanks to Modi’s relentless dedication.
Talking to Kashmir Reader, Ashok Koul said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become quite popular among the people because he never talks about politics or party in his programme, but only about the development of the country and the achievements of the people which is creating inspiration among the youths.”
Koul also said that elections will be held soon. He mentioned that elections will begin with Urban Local Body (ULB), followed by Panchayat elections, and then Parliamentary elections. Alongside Parliamentary elections, Assembly elections could also take place, he said, adding that the decision will be made by the Chief Election Commissioner of India.
The party is ready for elections, he said.
“The BJP will field its candidates in all 40 ULBs in Kashmir and 37 in Jammu. In all 40 ULBs, candidates run on party tickets but in Panchayats, they run independently,” he added.
