Srinagar: Halqa Adab Hajin Sonawari and Wahab Cultural Society in collaboration with JKAACL under the patronage of Adabi Markaz Kamraz on Sunday remember renowned poet and scholar Dr.Aziz Hajini on his 2nd death anniversary in an impressive function held at Higher Secondary School Hajin. DC Bandipora was the chief guest.
The speakers on the occasion while paying glowing tribute to the late poet said that the void created by the departing of Hajini can never be filled. They hailed the late poet’s extraordinary qualities and contribution towards language, literature and school education in Kashmir.
They also highlighted his contribution towards the promotion of the Kashmiri language and literature.
Famous Sufi poet Mustafa Alvi Kulgami was awarded the Khilaat Aziz Hajni while Insha Javid was awarded the “Aziz Hajni Gold Medal” for securing the first position in BA Kashmiri in the first semester.
On this occasion, three books authored by different writers were released.
The programme was attended by Professor Mohammad Zaman Azurda, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Shakir Shafi, Riyaz ul Hassan, Mir Bashir Ahmad, Azhar Hajini, Professor Shad Ramzan, Waheed Jeelani, and writers, administrative officials, civil society and linguistic volunteers from across the valley.
