Srinagar: The Khidmat Centre association J&K continued its protest for the 5th Day in Srinagar. Hundreds of Khidmat Centre professionals have been staging protest demonstration, demanding the redressal of their issues as has been promised by the JK bank authorities.
One of the professionals while speaking to the media said that “in 2009 Khidmat Centres were started by the J&K Bank, promising that all e-governance services will be routed from these centers. It has been 14 years now, no promise has been fulfilled, he added. The J&K bank gave us assurances many times, but nothing has happened so far, he said.
Another professional with tears in his eyes said that if promised issues are not addressed he would burn himself to death at Lalchowk; as he is not in a position to even pay the school fee of his daughter.
“We have given 14 important years of our life to these centre providing all possible services to the people, most of us are over aged now, J&K Bank has to take some concrete measures accommodating us, ” demanded these professionals.
Protesting Khidmat Centre Professional also appealed to the LG J&K to intervene in resolving their issues by framing a permanent settlement policy for these centres.
