Six LNTs involved in illegal mining seized in Pampore, Pulwama

Pampore: The Geology and Mining Department Pulwama seized six LNTs involved in illegal mining in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district during the raids in the last two days.
A team of officials from the Geology and Mining Department of Pulwama, Revenue Police, Wildlife and Forest Department laid a crackdown at Zantrag Khrew and Lassipora areas of Pulwama district.
DMO Pulwama Er Mohammad Manzoor informed Kashmir Reader that a total of 6 LNT machines were seized within two days during raids by the Multilevel Departmental Task Force conducted at various locations of the district.
He said continuing the crackdown on illegal mining, the Geology and Mining Department, Wildlife and Forest department conducted a special drive at the Zantrag Khrew area of Pampore and seized two LNT machines involved in illegal mining.
Acting upon specific information about the unauthorised mining during night hours at Lassipora Pulwama, a team from the Multilevel Departmental Task Force including the Geology and Mining Department, Tehsildar Litter along with his staff members and concerned police and seized 4 LNT machines from block number 4 and block number 2.
He further said that all the illegal mining cases would be dealt with under the rules and all the things against the violators would be done by a fast track system.
The operation against illegal mining and transporting is going on in different areas of the Pulwama district. He said that since there is zero tolerance against illegal mining, the department had been holding an extensive drive against the violators in various locations of the district including Pampore and Pulwama.
