Deficit rainfall in J&K, Ladakh: MeT

Predicts Mainly Dry, Hot Weather For Next Week

Srinagar: The weather department on Friday said that Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh has witnessed deficit rainfall last month and current month.
A meteorological department here said that weather remained hot and dry in J&K and Ladakh. At 33.3°C, the said, Kupwara was the hottest station in Kashmir and at 35.7°C, Jammu city was the hottest station in Jammu region.
He said heat wave condition was observed at two places of Kashmir—Kokernag and Qazingund.
“As of now, due to stable atmospheric conditions, mainly hot & dry weather is very likely to prevail for next one week,” he said.
July recorded excess rainfall in J&K and Ladakh, he said. “Aug & Sept received deficit Rainfall in J&K and Ladakh. Deficit Rainfall will continue for atleast next 10 days.”
