Hajin: The District Administration Bandipora renamed Government Primary School, Kanikadal as Martyr Constable Zahoor Ahmad Government Primary School Bonikhan.
The renaming ceremony was organised on Wednesday in the school premises in which Naib Tehsildar Hajin Mohammad Altaf was the chief guest whereas CEO Bandipora Mohammad Amin Beigh and ZEO Hajin Abdul Rahim Lone were the special guests.
The Naib Tehsildar presented the welcome note and gave a pen image of the martyr Constable Zahoor Ahmad, his achievements and the story of his martyrdom.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO Bandipora said, “The renaming of schools is a token of gratitude and to pay tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives fighting for the country. We have directions from the government to rename the school after the martyrs who have sacrificed their precious lives for the country.”
Among others present were Councillor Mohammad Maqbool, Senior Assistant Riyaz Ahmad, Junior Assistant Firdous Ahmad, Rayees Ahmad and the family members of the martyr Zahoor Ahmad.
