Pampore: A youth from Saffron Town Pampore, who was seriously injured in a road accident last week near the Pahalgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, succumbed at the SMHS hospital Srinagar on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ashraf Chat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Chat, a resident of Tulbagh Pampore.
According to relatives, Ashraf received serious injuries in the accident. He was referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar in critical condition. However, after battling for his life for a week, he succumbed to his injuries on Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on Saffron Town after the death of Mohammad Ashraf reached there. A large number of people participated in his Namaz-e-Janaza which was held in Khankah-e-Moula Pampore. Later, Ashraf was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard.
