Chandrayaan-3 triumph leads to joyful sports festival at Pampore

Students and teachers celebrate success

Pampore: To express happiness in achieving the success of Chandrayaan-3, various types of activities were organised at Saffron Town Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
The motive was to make the students aware that India had created history by becoming the first country to land on the South Pole of the lunar surface. Students expressed their joy and excitement in celebrating this historic event.
They were also made to feel proud of the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon and India’s strong determination to uncover its mysteries, officials told Kashmir Reader.
The Youth Services and Sports Zone Pampore in collaboration with Green Meadows Educational Institute to celebrate a Sports Festival, expressing happiness over the success of Mission Chandrayaan-3.
The programme began with the arrival of the Chief Guest Abdul Rashid Teli, ZEO Pampore, and the Guest of Honour, ZPEO Sued Masrat Hussain Andarbi. Abdul Rashid Bhat, a sports enthusiast and doctor, witnessed the students’ energetic and bouncy sports events.
The students of the four different houses competed in sports events like relay races, 100 meters race, volleyball, 200 meters race, long jump, and discus throw.
Kindergarten kids also participated in fun games like sack races, marble and spoon races, recreational games, and self-defense training for girls. Alongside the non-participating students, parents cheered for their children. Proud parents could be seen brimming with happiness as they watched their children perform.
Teachers also had the opportunity to showcase their physical fitness by participating in races. They proved that age is no bar for running and winning on the tracks.
The Chief Guest, along with other guests, awarded medals to the winners of various sports events. He addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of sports in a child’s life. He was delighted to see girls participating in almost all the sports events. The ZEO congratulated all officials, members of Youth Services and Sports, and members of Green Meadows Educational Institute, especially the Principal of the institute.
Mohammad Ashraf Bhat Organizer of the Sports Festival, on behalf of Youth Services and Sports Zone Pampore, thanked everyone for their presence and support and congratulated the students for their exceptional performances.
Taking to Kashmir Reader Zonal Physical Education Officer Syed Masrat Hussain Andrabi said that yesterday ISRO scientists created history after Chandrayaan -3 landed successfully on Moon.
“It was in this context we organised today’s sports to express our joy with the rest of our nation, ” he said, adding the event coincides with national sports adding its charm. He said that students and teachers took part in the event with enthusiasm.
The aim of the programme was to inform the students about the hard work and talents of scientists so that these students can play an important role in the development of the country tomorrow by doing such innovative work.
