CUK’s Economics Deptt organises field visit

Ganderbal: Department of Economics, Central University of Kashmir (CUK) in association with DSEO and Fisheries Department organised a field visit under the aegis of Amrit Kaal on the theme “Economic Insights From Blue Revolution” by exploring success stories made possible through Pradhan Mantri Matsaya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) -a GoI initiative to usher in the Blue Revolution as depicted in the blue colour of Ashok Chakra.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Shahid Rasool and Dean School of Social Science/Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar flagged off the visit.
The students along with faculty, DSEO Ganderbal, Mr. Akhter Hussain Malik and Extension Officer Fisheries Department Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Najar visited a number of Production/Sale centres within Ganderbal. They interacted with Extension officer and farm owners about the establishment costs, annual output, losses and profits, employment generation and had detailed and thorough information about the demand and supply of different kinds of fish including “Trout Fish” in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Students were encouraged with many directions for farm establishments as one of the best employment initiatives that can be availed.
Concluding the event, Department Coordinator, Dr Masroor Ahmad expressed gratitude to University authorities, DSEO and Department of Fisheries for their support and appreciated students for their active participation.
