Illegal extraction & transportation of minerals

Baramulla: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 04 vehicles and arrested 04 persons in Baramulla.
A Police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Shri Mohd Nawaz-JKPS led by Incharge Police Post Palhallan seized 2 tractors and arrested 2 drivers identified as Mehraj Uddin Dar son of Abdul Aziz Dar resident of Poshwari Naidkhai & Fayaz Ahmad Baba son of Ghulam Mohd Baba resident of Loribal Naidkhai at Dargam Palhallan, for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Similarly, Police under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Shri Imtiaz Ahmed-JKPS assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg seized 2 Tippers and arrested 2 drivers identified as Shahid Ahmad Rather son of Gh Nabi resident of Gani Baba & Ab Rashid Sheikh son of Ab Gani resident of Hajibal involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Shrai Tangmarg.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigation have been initiated.
“Persons found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per the law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units,” police said.
