Ind vs Pak clash among 9 fixtures rescheduled for ODI World Cup

New Delhi: The much anticipated clash between India and Pakistan in the ODI World Cup was rescheduled to October 14 instead of October 15, the ICC said on Wednesday.
The Indian Express was the first to report that the date for the India-Pakistan game was likely to be changed as it would coincide with the first day of the Navratri festival, celebrated with much fervour in Gujarat.
As a result of this change, some other fixtures were also rejigged with England’s fixture against Afghanistan in Delhi now moved from its original October 14 date to October 15.
Pakistan’s contest against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad has moved from October 12 to October 10 and Australia’s match against South Africa in Lucknow was moved back 24 hours and will now be played on October 12 instead of October 13.
Similarly, New Zealand’s game against Bangladesh which was originally scheduled as a day match on October 14 in Chennai, will now be held on October 13 as a day-night contest.
England’s match against Bangladesh in Dharamsala will now be day match with a 10:30AM start after it was originally scheduled as a day-night fixture.
Towards the end of the league stage, there are three changes with the double-header encounters of November 12 being moved a day earlier to November 11 – Australia vs Pakistan in Pune (10:30AM) and England vs Pakistan in Kolkata (02:00PM), the ICC release added.
Meanwhile, India’s last league game against the Netherlands has now been shifted from November 11 to November 12, a day-night clash which is to be played in Bengaluru.
