Khan hold has an extensive background in the field of social work. ABRS is a global federation of Gandhian institutions and social activities, which was founded by Padma Vibhushan (Late) Dr Nirmala Deshpande who was a noted social activist and embraced Gandhian philosophy. Dr Deshpande was a nominated member of Rajya Sabha twice. ABRS has previously won the National Communal Harmony Award conferred by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
