KU’s South Campus Observes International Olympics Day

Anantnag: International Olympics Day was celebrated with active participation of students at the South Campus, University of Kashmir.
The event was organised by the Department of Physical Education and sports, South Campus.
An Olympics Run was held for employees and students which saw an overwhelming response from employees and students, including the girl students.
The run was flagged off by Director, South Campus, Prof Raies Ahmad Qadri.
Prof Qadri highlighted the positive impact of sports activities on the mental and physical well-being of people. He also assured the students of every possible support in terms of sports infrastructure and equipment.
Assistant Director, Physical Education, Tausif Bhat, underscored the importance of Olympics movement and urged students to participate in large numbers in the forthcoming sports events in South Campus.
Proctor, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Bhat, teaching and non-teaching staff were also present on the occasion.
Later, a prize distribution ceremony was held, wherein Prof Raies distributed medals among the winners.
