Army’s 50 RR organises blood donation camp at Pampore

PAMPORE: Army organised a blood donation camp in Saffron Town Pampore of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday. The camp was joined by local residents of Pampore also.
Army’s 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) organized the mega blood donation camp in collaboration with District Hospital Pulwama and Sub District Hospital Pampore at its Camp located in Pampore wherein 30 personnel including five civilians donated blood. The officer of the 50 RR also donated blood during the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Army’s officials in the presence of officers and jawans, locals, doctors and the health team of Sub District Hospital Pampore. The event was held to commemorate the importance of blood donation and was aimed to raise awareness.
The slogan for this mega camp was“Give Blood, Give Plasma, Share Life, Share often”. The jawans of 50 RR, officers and local youth donated their blood for a good cause, officials said.
The officials said that it was a voluntary initiative to contribute to a social cause as trauma and other emergency cases very often require blood.
The distribution of refreshments was carried out after blood donation.
On the occasion, Medical Officer Dr. Isma said that blood donation is good to have a healthy life.
“If your blood can save any human it means you saved humanity,” she said, adding that arrangements made were of excellent standard.
She said that 30 pints of blood were collected during the camp. The officers and jawans were happy after they donated blood.
The local residents of the area appreciated the efforts made by the Army’s 50 RR and requested for more such blood donation and medical camps to be organised in the future.
