YSS organises sports event for ‘household women and golden age people’ at Pampore

PAMPORE: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Zone Pampore organized a sports festival for “household women and golden age people” of Zone Pampore in various sports activities like recreational indoor/outdoor games at government girls Middle School Drangbal here on Thursday.
A number of women and “golden age” people participated in the event which was attended by ZEO Pampore Abdul Rasheed, ZPEO Pampore Masrat Hussain Andrabi, ICDS officer Dr Hardeep Singh, BDC Chairman Mir Altaf Ahmad, Sarpanch Babita Bhat, DDC member Pampore Tazima Akhtar, DDC member Awantipora Meema Akhtar. Teachers, staff members and Anganwadi workers were also present on the occasion.
The event was aimed at promoting sports among the elderly and encouraging them to stay active and healthy.
Various sports activities were organized, including minor games, cultural events and recreational programmes and all the women of the “Golden Age” showed great enthusiasm and enjoyed activities, officials told Kashmir Reader.
Our Elders are a crucial part of our lives who guide us with their wisdom and experience throughout our lives. The “Golden Age” event was organised by Youth Services and Sports Office Pampore.
The participants expressed gratitude to the Zonal Physical Education Officer Pampore Masrat Hussain Andrabi for organising such a sports event and requested the ZPEO to organise such events in future.
Speaking on this occasion, the impressed guests said that “Golden Age” people are a form of blessing for all of us.” They are the greatest treasure of the family, society, and nation. They have an immense ocean of knowledge, experience and wisdom which serves as a guidepost for the younger generation,” they said.
The participants enjoyed a lot in taking part in different events, games and cultural events. The theme of the programmes was to encourage all the household women and “Golden Age” people to keep themselves fit and send a clear message to youth to love, respect and care for such people.
“This programme was organised by the Zonal Office of the Department of Youth Services and Sports. “We have been instructed by the Directorate for engaging women of old age and golden age in different sports activities on June 8,” ZPEO Pampore, Masrat Hussain Andrabi told Kashmir Reader, adding that they held a number of programmes to celebrate the G20 presidency by India and today’s event is part of this chain.
He said that it was a beautiful programme Govt Girls middle school Drangbal. “The aim is that they should be physically, mentally and spiritually fit,” he said, adding a number of women took part in the programme.
