Woman drug peddler arrested with Charas powder in Pampore

Pampore: Jammu & Kashmir Police on Monday said they arrested a female drug peddler along with 1.800 grams of Charas powder in the Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Police district Awantipora.
Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, In an act of alertness and prompt action, strict action has been taken by police Pampore area of the police district and arrested the lady drug peddlers and recovered Charas from her possession during naka checking at Galander Pampore.
Acting on specific information, a police party from Police Station Pampore headed by SHO Police station Pampore Syed Aqeel Shah-JKPS Dy.SP (P) under the Supervision of SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad placed a special Naka at Galander area of Pampore and arrested one lady drug peddler.
Police identified the arrested drug peddler Safeeqa Begum wife of Mohammad Shaban Ganie, resident of Lelhar Kakapora, Pulwama.
One 1 kg and 800 grams of Charas powder were recovered from the possession of the said lady drug peddler, police officials told Kashmir Reader. He said the police registered a case FIR under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Pampore.
It is pertinent to mention the arrest and seizure were done with the assistance of Executive Magistrate Pampore, CDPO Pampore and Legal Metrology Department Pulwama, he said.
“Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace,” police said.
The residents of Saffron Town hailed the efforts of Pampore Police especially SDPO Pampore Mir Imtiyaz Ahmad and SHO Syed Aqeel Shah for their action against drug peddlers in the the area.
