The awareness vehicle visits farmers on fields and registers them under HADP
Pampore: The awareness programme for farmers through the ‘Aalav’ awareness vehicle started in dozens of villages of Pampore Tehsil in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The programme aims to raise awareness about the Kisan Samrakh Abhiyan under the Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP) in J&K UT.
Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Production Atal Dulloo flagged off a vehicle named ‘Aalav’ from Srinagar on May 19 for farmers who have not been registered so far.
On Monday, the Aalav vehicle was flagged off by Naib Tehsildar Pampore Javaid Ahmad in the presence of Tehsildar Waqf Board Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-din, Tehsil official Mir Murwat Hussain, Irshad Ahmad Dar and others from the Tehsil Office Pampore.
The vehicle will pass through dozens of villages of Pampore Tehsil including Pampore, Meej, Lalpora, Konibal, Munpora, Khrew, Shar Shali, Ladhoo and other areas to register and inform people about the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, an official told Kashmir Reader.
The Kissan Advisory board member Irshad Ahmad Dar, who led the Aalav vehicle, will spread awareness among the farmers in different areas and fields regarding the HADP. “It has been started with the purpose of providing the people with the necessary information about this scheme so that the agriculture sector can be made more stable by bringing more and more people under the ambit of this scheme,” a KVK member said.
The Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP) was rolled out with 29 proposed projects with an outlay of Rs 5,012 crore to be implemented over a period of the next five years.
During the awareness programme, Kissan Advisory Board members, farmers, and Sarpanchs appreciated the LG administration for starting awareness among people through the Aalav vehicles.
Talking to Kashmir Reader, Irshad said this announcement vehicle Aalav visits every district and today it is in Pampore. “Aalav visits those farmers on the field who missed the Kisan Smparakh Abhiyan programme due to their busy schedule. It registers them on the spot,” he said, adding that they travelled through 26 villages like Pampore, Khrew, Ladhoo, Wuyan, Shaar Shali and others and registered many farmers, especially young ones, on their fields, for HADP.
“Our motive is to reach out to farmers with various agricultural schemes so that they are benefitted,” he said.
The officer appreciated Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for starting the awareness programme which is in Kashmiri and making farmers understand what the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme is.
“Kisan Sampark Abhiyan scheme launched by LG sahab is a good scheme. There is huge unemployment here and it gives a hundred percent subsidy,” Adil Nabi Mir, Sarpanch Konibal village, told Kashmir Reader. He said this scheme is especially good for those who run after government jobs.
Mir said they have registered 180 farmers under this scheme at panchayat halqa Konibal. He thanked the LG and Deputy Commissioner Pulwama for the scheme as well as the Aalav awareness initiative.
