IEI J&K Centre, Sgr holds webinar to commemorate ‘World Telecommunication & Information Society Day’

Srinagar: On the eve of ‘World Telecommunication & Information Society Day’ the Institution of Engineers (India), J&K State Centre, Srinagar, on Wednesday organized a webinar jointly with the Government College of Engineering & Technology Safapora, Ganderbal, and SSM College of Engineering, Parihaspora Pattan.
The webinar was held on the theme, ‘Empowering the Least Developed Countries through Information & Communication Technologies’.
The event witnessed a gathering of participants, including corporate members of IEI, Executive Committee Members, Academicians, and Students, who eagerly attended to explore the role of ICT in empowering the least developed countries.
The webinar was honored to have Er. Masharib Gul Mufti, General Manager BSNL, as the Chief Guest. His presence and insightful remarks added great value to the event, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between industry and academia in leveraging ICT for empowering nations.
Dr. Nissar Ahmad from Government College of Engineering & Technology Safapora delivered a captivating keynote speech, sharing valuable insights and experiences related to the theme. His expertise shed light on the transformative power of information and communication technologies in driving sustainable development and uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the least developed countries.
Dr. Raof Ahmad Khan, Chairman of The Institution of Engineers (India), J&K State Centre, Srinagar, expressed heartfelt gratitude through a welcome address, acknowledging the speakers, attendees, and the organizing committee for their contributions to making the webinar a resounding success. Er. Ferdous Ahad Bhat, Honorary Secretary of The Institution of Engineers (India), J&K State Centre, Srinagar, skillfully coordinated the entire event, ensuring its smooth execution.
