Give this item good space: IGFRI, Krishi Vigyan Kendra organize awareness prog on fodder technologies

Srinagar: ICAR-Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute (IGFRI), Regional Research Station (RRS), Srinagar in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Srinagar organized a one-day awareness programme on temperate feed/fodder technologies and animal health under Tribal Sub Plan at Sangri, Khunmoh, on Wednesday.
The theme areas of the programme were ‘Temperate feed and fodder technologies for Sustainable Livestock production’, ‘Importance of millets for human and animal health to celebrate the International year of millets 2023’ besides animal health management, wherein different cattle and poultry were treated for different ailments.
Scientists from ICAR-IGFRI RRS Srinagar, Dr Sheeraz Saleem Bhat (Senior Scientist and Scientist in Charge) and Dr. Nazim Hamid Mir; and from KVK Srinagar, Dr Sajad Mohiuddin (Senior Scientist and Head), Dr Saima Paul, Dr Rayessul Islam, Dr Rayees Ahmad Wani and Dr Asima Rafiq interacted with the farmers on different aspects of fodder production, utilization, measures to be taken to enhance the livestock productivity, pastureland management, importance of millets and millet products and animal health.
District Development Commissioner, Khunmoh, Manzoor Ahmad graced the occasion as the chief guest. During the event, 53 tribal beneficiaries participated, who were also provided with seed of maize (SMC-7 variety) and chelated mineral mixture by ICAR-IGFRI RRS Srinagar under Tribal Sub Plan.
