Integrated farming has a huge potential for sustainable agriculture economy: Dir Agri

SRINAGAR: Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhury Mohammed Iqbal along with joint director agriculture inputs Mohammad Younis Chowdhury on Saturday visited different areas of Ganderbal district and took stock of agriculture scenario in the district. During the visit Director Agriculture inspected hi-tech polyhouses at FTEC premises Ganderbal and held a detailed visit of preng village and adjacent areas.
While speaking to the farmers at different places director agriculture marked the importance of integrated farming for the area. He asked the farmers that the geo-climatic conditions of the concerned area are suitably conducive for the adoption of integrated farm of cultivation.
Chowdhury Iqbal assured the farming community of every possible technical guidance from the department. He asked the concerned offices to prepare DPRs for the implementation of various initiatives under Holistic Agriculture development programme in the area. Later on Director Agriculture visited DCTC mushroom and soil testing lab Ganderbal where he held an interactive session with technical; experts and staff members of both the establishments.
