DC Pulwama kick-starts Abhiyan in 11 Panchayats of the district
PAMPORE: Kisan Sampark Abhiyan Farmers Orientation Programme under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) was on Monday kick-started in 11 panchayat halqas of this south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The programme witnessed a huge response from farmers of different sectors including Agriculture, horticulture, farming, dairy sector and poultry on the first day.
The three-day Orientation/ Training Programme under holistic development of Agriculture and allied sectors started at Panchayat Halqa Chandhara area of Pampore Tehsil on Monday. The programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary.
The programme was attended by ADC Awantipora Zaffar Husson Shawl, Tehsildar Pampore Zuber Ahmad Bhat, Revenue, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal husbandry and other officials of various departments, Sarpanchs and a large number of farmers.
The four-month-long District Level Training cum Orientation Programme on “Holistic Agriculture Development Plan” will last up to 31 August, officials told Kashmir Reader. The four-month-long programme is aimed at reaching out to farmers and educating them on the latest agricultural practices and technology.
Kisan Sampark Abhiyan which will cover 3,565 Panchayats is an outreach programme to educate farmers on various issues, including business management, entrepreneurship and government schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary highlighted the importance of the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, saying, “This programme is an important step towards empowering our farmers with the latest knowledge and skills. With the right training and guidance, our farmers can significantly improve their crop yield and income, ultimately contributing to the growth of our agricultural sector.”
He urged the farmers to make the most of the available opportunities through training sessions and also called upon the concerned officers/officials to acquaint the farmers with the latest trends besides quelling their doubts.
The DC also met various delegations from Chandhara and others areas of Pampore Tehsil during the event. He said that the holistic development of the agriculture programme launched by LG Manoj Sinha in the UT aims at benefiting a farmer as per his skill and capacity.
