Srinagar: Downtown Heroes FC on Thursday continued their golden form as they got better of table toppers Jagat Singh FC by 1-0 in the ongoing 2nd Division I-League.
“Unlike most of the clubs, Downtown trusts its local talent and was again fielding 10 local players. Thanks to some top play and a terrific strike by Parvaj Bhuiya in the 64th minute, Downtown had the last laugh,” the club said in a statement. “This win strengthened Downtown’s hopes to qualifying with one match to go. They will be looking to win the last game with a bang to add to their chances.”
Downtown has been playing consistent football in last few games and one can expect them to make it through if they continued the same rhythm, the team said.
