Ganderbal: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have launched poppy cultivation and bung destruction drive in Ganderbal.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, Police carried out destruction of poppy cultivation and wild bhung on massive scale in land in Watalbagh, Yenihama, Repora and Kranihama areas of district Ganderbal.
The drive was carried out by the Police Party of Police Station Lar led by SHO Lar Smt. Ruksana (Dy.SP Probationary), along with the team of Revenue & Excise Department.
The general public of these areas have widely appreciated the action taken by the Police and assured their full cooperation in future as well to eradicate drug menace from the society.
“Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law,” police said.
