43rd Foundation Day: Darakhshan Andrabi asks youth to join BJP ‘to take country on the path of progress’

PAMPORE: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Thursday observed the party’s 43rd foundation day here at Panthachowk area on Srinagar outskirts. Senior BJP leader and Chairperson Waqf Board Dr Darakshan Andrabi and senior BJP leader Er Ajaz Hussain addressed a huge public gathering. A large number of party workers including women and youth took part in the foundation day celebrations.
During the function, scores of people, mostly youth joined BJP in presence of Dr Darakshan Andrabi and Er Ajaz Hussain.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Darakshan Andrabi said that BJP is committed to following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan ‘Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas’ and that the party was dutybound to serve the poor and even the poorest lot of society. “Poor people were always befooled in the name of vote bank politics and nobody really reached out to them and gave them what they needed. BJP is committed to making society better with each passing day,” she said.
Andrabi also thanked party leadership for giving him a role as chairperson of Waqf Board Jammu and Kashmir. She said they have to preserve and safeguard Waqf assets. She appealed to people to join hands with BJP “for taking the country ahead on the path of progress”.
In his speech, Er Aijaz Hussain said that all the previous political parties raised “hollow” slogans to keep their vote bank politics going just to stay in power. “Even after getting votes from the people including poor and rich, previous political parties ditched their voters with the result that the people are now coming in large numbers to join and strengthen the BJP as seen today,” he said, adding, “The youth were befooled on one or the other pretext with the result, they are now landing in BJP to make their future bright.”
Later on, the party leaders and workers took out a short rally. National flags were also distributed among the workers for hoisting in their houses.
Talking to Kashmir Reader, Waqf Chairperson Dr Darakshan Andrabi said that without doing politics, they want to take all people together in confidence and in accordance with their slogan of ‘Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vishwas’.
Er Aijaz Hussein said, “The 43rd foundation day of our party is being observed with full zest and zeal in Lal Chowk constituency of Srinagar like it is being observed in other parts of the country. BJP is no outsider in Kashmir but a party of every individual and every household.”
He said the way people showed their enthusiasm today and the youth joining the party signals that under Narendra Modi’s leadership, BJP will sway the next elections in Kashmir. He said the booth-level workers and the youth who got party flags will hoist the same on their housetops in Lal Chowk constituency including Balhama, Zawoora, Khunmoh, Lasjan, Zewan, Panthachowk, Pandhrethan, Zafran Colony.
